Let’s Start Here: Meeting Resources In Canada For A Better Return In Our Own Backyard

What happens when we travel?

We’re exposed to different cultures and forms of humanity. We see the way others live, we experience the riches of other communities, and our perspective is widened.

What would happen if we were pushed us to do this in our own backyard?

We could explore the colours of Newfoundland, experience the petits moments de joie in Quebec City, the awe-inspiring peaks of the Rockies, the picturesque views of Vancouver’s waterfront – and everything else in between that unites us as Canadians. We could get to know our neighbours, see our communities at work, be introduced to the highest talent of the culinary world, and boost the Canadian travel and hospitality economy as a whole.

The Meetings, Conventions and Incentive industry is a means to see the world for many of us – one of the many perks of late nights, stressful days, and juggling numerous balls in the air. This year, with the introduction of COVID19, and the immediate halting of our industry, we have been sequestered to our own borders. Not to sound flippant in response to a global crisis, but maybe this is a time to celebrate what Canada has to offer. Fantastic incentive destinations, conference hotels with gorgeous scenery and rich history, adventurous team building activities, talented musicians, speakers, designers and decorators.

It’s our responsibility to help our industry make a safe return – smart decisions now will lead to the industry making a faster come back. This is why we believe that starting our new normal in our own backyard is going to be key in our resurgence.

Fifteen years of sourcing in Canada has lent our team invaluable expertise in the Canadian market.

Product knowledge has become one of our secret weapons – this, married with passion and curiosity keeps our team on top of our game, and we want you right there beside us.

All of these reasons combined is why we’re taken this journey across Canada – to create a ready-to-use library for those engaged within the meetings and events sector, and to be accountable in the recovery of our economy. Our hopes are to encourage the safe return of meetings, and to promote travel within Canada.

For the last 18 weeks, our virtual journey from the east coast of the nation, St John’s, Newfoundland all the way to the Pacific Ocean, Victoria, British Columbia led to gathering some pertinent meeting and event destination info.  We’ve compiled it into a one-pager document, if you’re looking for accommodation big or small, unique off-site venues, local favourite experiences to wow delegates – it all can be found below.  Check it out!
